Alternet & ESSRG SPI Webinar: Inclusion and power in science-policy interactions

10 June 2022, 2—3.30 pm CEST


The second Alternet SPI webinar titled “Inclusion and power in science-policy interactions” will be hosted by ESSRG on the 10th of June, starting at 2 pm CEST. The event will feature three presentations and a facilitated panel discussion with guest speakers, addressing topics like power asymmetries, deliberation and knowledge co-production in SPIs across different knowledge holders and knowledge types.

Guest speakers:

  • Esther Turnhout, interdisciplinary social scientist, playing different roles in IPBES incl. acting as lead author of the Global Assessment, Chair of Science, Technology & Society, University of Twente, the Netherlands
  • Monika Berg, environmental sociologist, Center for Environmental and Sustainability Social Science, Örebro University, Sweden
  • Zsolt Molnár, ethnobotanist, coordinating lead author of the IPBES Global Assessment and member of the IPBES ILK expert group, Institute of Ecology and Botany, Centre for Ecological Research, Hungary
