Co-operation for the Convention on Biological Diversity EU-funded project (CO-OP4CBD)
Alternet is pleased to be amongst the 9 partners involved in the implementation of the Co-operation for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CO-OP4CBD) EU-funded project, together with the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS, Belgium), UNEP – World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC, UK), the French Foundation for Research on Biodiversity (FRB, France), the Finnish Environmental Protection Agency (SYKE, Finland), the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research Foundation (NINA, Norway), Pensoft Publishers (Belgium), the Centre for Ecological Research (CER, Hungary), and the French National Museum of Natural History (MNHN, France).
This 4-year Horizon Europe project which saw its kick-off meeting on the 21st and 22nd February of this year, will support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework in the European Union and Associated Countries, by helping to mobilize European expertise and delivering capacity building.
The project itself has 6 work packages:
- WP1: Mapping the landscape of expertise for technical and scientific cooperation
- WP2: Engaging expertise in CBD processes
- WP3: Supporting monitoring, reporting and review
- WP4: Supporting technical and scientific cooperation
- WP5: Communication, dissemination, and exploitation
- WP6: Coordination, management and identifying synergies.
