In-Kind Support for Alternet
Alternet Leadership
The Alternet leadership personnel oversee the operation of the Alternet bodies of governance–the Council and Steering Committee. This represents a serious degree of in-kind work and commitment. The current leadership is made up of two chairs from NINA and INRAE and two vice chairs from CESAM and UK-CEH.

Alternet Steering Committee
Each of Alternet’s core activities is supported by the leadership of an appointed member of the Alternet Steering Committee. The Steering Committee members work to deliver action proposals and recommendations to the Alternet Council–and then work throughout the year to carry out those action plans. Steering Committee members work on an in-kind basis and meet several times throughout the year with at least one in-person meeting held annually.

The Alternet Management Board oversees the executive, day-to-day operation and legal management of the Alternet Association–a major in-kind commitment. The Alternet MB is presently comprised of partners from: NINA, INRAE, Eurac, UK-CEH, and CESAM, as well as Maurice Hoffmann as in individual.

- James Hutton Institute: Hosting location for 2026 Alternet Council Meeting

- CESAM: Hosting location for 2025 in-between Alternet SC/Council joint meeting
- CREAF: Hosting location for 2025 Alternet Council meeting includes partners from: CESAM, UK-CEH, ESSRG, Hutton, PBL, UFZ, Eurac, NINA, and INRAE
2025 Alternet Conference
- CESAM: Provision of venue and organisational support and staffing for the 2025 Alternet Conference (Amadeu Soares, Elsa Pereira, Anna Lillebo, Tania Barros)
- The organising committee of the 2025 Alternet Conference includes partners from: CESAM, UK-CEH, ESSRG, Hutton, PBL, UFZ, Eurac, NINA, and INRAE
